In this Act, unless the subject or the context otherwise requires,–
(a)   “Chairman” means the Chairman of the Committee.
(b) "Permit" means a permit obtained under section 8.
(c) "Permit holder" means an investor who has received a permit in accordance with section 8.
(d) "Industry" means an industry included in the list under section 5.
(e) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" means prescribed or prescribed in the rules made under this Act.
(f) "Infrastructure" means the structure necessary for the development of the special economic zone and the term also refers to dispensaries, hospitals, post offices, banking services, child care centers, schools and chamena homes to be established in the special economic zone.
(g) "Authority" means the Special Economic Zone Authority established under section 14.
(h) "Investor" means a person, firm, company or organization that invests in the construction of an industry or infrastructure and the term also refers to a foreign government, foreign person or international organization that invests in the construction of an industry or infrastructure.
(i) "Ministry" means the Ministry of Industries.
(j) "Special Economic Zone" means the Special Economic Zone designated as per Section 3.
(k) "Member" means a member of the Committee and the term includes the Chairman.
(l) "Committee" means the Board of Directors constituted under section 19.
